Table tennis robots are machines that throw the ball to you so you can hit it back. Using a robot is not usually as much fun as hitting balls thrown by a person, nor is it as good as a good practice partner. However, a robot is always willing to play!

Newgy

Newgy robots are the easiest to use. The Newgy Robo-Pong 2050 Robot is the top of the Newgy line. It is easy to set up, affordable, portable, and it recycles the balls. Its biggest negative is that it cannot play two different spins one right after the other. You are limited to hitting against the same type of spin (topspin, underspin, or sidespin), although the head can oscillate to direct the balls to different positions on the table.

Newgy’s other robot, the Newgy Robo-Pong 1050 Robot, sits on the table surface and does not recycle the balls like the 2050 does. The Newgy Ball Catch Net II helps catch the balls.

The Newgy Recycling Net Upgrade Kit converts a Robo-Pong 1050 into a Robo-Pong 2050.

Butterfly

The Butterfly Amicus 3000 Plus Robot is a computerized and programmable robot. It can switch from topspin to underspin in successive balls, as well as vary the spin. It also has two wheels in the head which lets it produce some types of balls that other robots cannot produce. It isn’t as portable as the Newgy robots.

Ball Retrievers

ball retriever lets you pick up stray balls without bending down. There are two types: one type is a long plastic tube and the other looks like a fishing net. The latter, although it seems more suited to a fishing expedition, actually works quite well.
