Utilizing innovative sensor technology, SensorScore turns the table tennis table playing surface into a nano-vibration detection field. With the sensors attached under the table, they communicate ball contact data to the scoring unit, which displays the score in real time. In addition to tracking and displaying the score, the system also announces the score. It informs the players when it is time to change serve by blinking the server’s score. Perfect for newbies who are just learning to play, or oldtimers whose memory isn't as sharp as it used to be.
The scoreboard is integrated into one of the net posts and runs on 4 AA batteries (not included). And if you change ends of the table like you should after each game, then each player gets a chance to act as the master controller, making it fair to both players. To preserve battery life, the scoreboard automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
The master controller attaches (with mounting tape) to one end of the table within easy reach of the player. It is linked to the scoreboard and allows for score adjustment in case something should go wrong, like a player banging the table with their racket, setting off the vibration sensor and incorrectly awarding a point. Or a very light ball touch, like an edge ball, that barely nicks the table, and is not recorded. The master controller also lets you select either an 11 or 21 point game, and power on or off the unit.
Sensors attach to the center of each table half and run the entire width of the net (3 sensors in all). They are connected to the scoreboard with simple plug in wires. Wire clips are included to neatly secure the sensor wires to the bottom of your table. And the sensitivity of the sensors can be adjusted at the scoreboard.
Net posts are designed to fit tables less than 1 inch (25mm) thick and that use a detachable net. May not work on tables that have permanent or built-in net posts. Net tension is not adjustable and this is not a legal net for sanctioned play. But for practice and recreational play, this is the bomb!
